SCOTT PEEBLES
WELL DONE. After 31 years of dedicated service to Richmond County, Chief Deputy Scott Peebles has retired, leaving behind a
legacy of leadership, commitment, and excellence in law enforcement.
Beginning his career with the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office in 1991, he served in Road Patrol, Criminal
Investigations, SWAT, and Crisis Negotiation, eventually leading as SWAT Team Commander, Incident Commander,
CAREER RETIREMENTS and Division Commander of both Criminal Investigations and Road Patrol.
Chief Peebles holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration, a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, and is a
graduate of the FBI National Academy and Georgia Law Enforcement Command College. A Leadership Augusta and
Leadership Georgia graduate, he has served on several community boards, including United Way of the CSRA, where
he was Board Chair in 2017.
Since joining the Marshal’s Office in 2017, he has played a pivotal role in shaping policies and initiatives that

Doug began his law enforcement career in 1988 with the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, where he served
