The Richmond County Marshal’s Office proudly
hosted its sixth annual Turkey Drive in celebration
of Thanksgiving. Through the dedication of the men
and women in the agency, 46 complete Thanksgiving
dinners were hand-delivered to families in the Augusta-
Richmond County area. Partnering with the Richmond
County School System and Augusta Partnership for
Children, the office identified families in need and
provided support to brighten their holiday season.
During the event, the Marshal’s Office recognized Corey
Johnson, a Cross Creek High School student, for his
extraordinary generosity. Instead of donating just one
turkey, Johnson selflessly contributed 24 turkeys to
help families in need.
“When I saw people giving out turkeys, I thought, ‘I have
savings—why not use my money to help?’” said Johnson,
who was inspired to give back to those less fortunate.
Following the recognition, the Marshal’s Office, with the
support of the local Psi Omega Chapter of Omega Psi Phi
Fraternity, distributed the donated turkeys to families
across Richmond County.
“This young man made a meaningful impact,” said
Richmond County Marshal Ramone Lamkin. “He took
his own money and purchased turkeys for families in our
community. That speaks volumes about his character,
his upbringing, and the values his parents have instilled
in him.”
Through the combined efforts of the Marshal’s Office
and generous community members like Johnson and
