SERVICE

The Service Division is tasked with the completion and accurate service
of civil process primarily from the Civil and Magistrate Court, also known
as small claims court. The Service Division is responsible for serving
various lawsuits, dispossessory warrants, petition for writs, garnishments,
subpoenas, levying against property to satisfy judgements, and executing
bench warrants processed by the Civil and Magistrate Court. The Service
Division also assists with court services by providing additional manpower
for various hearings and with the transportation of prisoners. Deputies in the
Service Division are also responsible for the issuance of citations received
from other county agencies, such as License and Inspections, Environmental
Services and Utilities (water division), via citation request.

In 2023, there was a 10% increase in the number of civil processes filed in the
Magistrate Court with close to 19,000 pieces of civil processes being served
by the service division.
