THE EVICTIONS

DIVISION

The Evictions Division, at the direction of the Civil and Magistrate Court,
issues final notices and works directly with the property owner, or
their representative, to carry out the removal of tenants and/or current
occupants of the structure. These structures include apartments, single-
family dwellings and mobile homes, which are often required by law to
be removed from the lot on which they are located. After the eviction is
complete a no trespassing notice is posted directing no further entry from
those recently evicted. In the event of a set out, a compliance inspector
conducts a follow-up to verify appropriate removal of any trash, household
goods or debris. In 2025 the numbers of evictions and final notices declined
to 4,703 from 6,092 in 2024.

THE SERVICE DIVISION 2025
The Service Division is tasked with the completion and accurate service SERVICE STATISTICS
of civil process primarily from the Civil and Magistrate Court, also
known as small claims court. The Service Division is responsible for 3,856 CIVIL SUITS
serving various lawsuits, dispossessory warrants, petition for writs, 286 GARNISHMENTS
