      Mayor Garnett L. Johnson Named Among Georgia’s Most Influential Leaders

         Mayor Garnett L. Johnson is recognized as one of Georgia Trend’s 2025
         “100 Most Influential Georgians,” a distinguished statewide honor
         highlighting leaders shaping policy, driving economic progress, and
         strengthening communities across Georgia.

         This recognition reflects his leadership during a pivotal year for Augusta,
         marked by continued hurricane recovery efforts, strategic economic
         development initiatives, and a focus on long-term growth and governance
         reform.

         His inclusion on this prestigious list underscores the impact of his service
         not only in Augusta, Georgia, but across the broader state.


      Stacy Pulliam Named GABCO Commissioner of the Year

         Commissioner Stacy Pulliam (District 2) was honored as the Georgia
         Association of Black County Officials (GABCO) Commissioner of the Year,
         a distinction that recognizes her exceptional leadership, dedication to
         public service, and meaningful contributions to the Augusta, Georgia,
         community.

         In this role, Commissioner Pulliam has worked collaboratively with fellow
         officials, residents, and community partners to support effective
         governance, improve the quality of life, and elevate opportunities
         throughout the city.

         This award reflects her commitment to thoughtful decision-making, civic
         engagement, and advancing programs and initiatives that benefit all
         residents.



       $42.8M in Reimbursements Secured for Helene Recovery
         In 2025, the Augusta, Georgia, Government continued advancing recovery
         efforts following Hurricane Helene through the FEMA Public Assistance
         Program, in coordination with GEMA/HS.

         Augusta identified $88.4 million in total recovery costs.
         To date, $82.6 million has been submitted to FEMA, $50.2 million has been
         obligated, and $42.8 million has been reimbursed, with $7.4 million pending
         review.


         Recovery projects span debris removal, infrastructure, and public
         facilities, utilities, parks, and emergency operations, strengthening
         Augusta’s long-term resilience and fiscal stewardship.


         The City remains fully committed to achieving 100% recovery for Augusta.
