Central Services
Central Services supported citywide operations through critical facility
upgrades, preventative maintenance, and infrastructure improvements
across Augusta’s public buildings.
Major projects included HVAC replacements at Julian Smith Casino, boiler
upgrades at the Charles B. Webster Detention Center, and structural and
system improvements at multiple public safety and community facilities.
The department also advanced operational efficiency by implementing
preventative maintenance programs and facility assessment tools, while
investing in workforce development through technical training
partnerships.
In 2025, Central Services processed 2,875 maintenance requests and
successfully completed 2,826, ensuring reliable and responsive support
for City operations.
