CAREER RETIREMENTS





                                                   CRAIG ELDRIDGE




                                                   Craig Eldridge came to our agency as a true novice to law enforcement. He quickly embraced the
                                                   role of security technician. Craig was the first employee of the agency to earn an IPVM designation
                                                   in  Video  Surveillance  Installation  and  was  instrumental  in  a  successful  SPLOST  project
                                                   management integrating the security at the Augusta Judicial Center into our Genetec system. In
                                                   addition, Craig took on many support roles, managing the badging program, assisted with budgets,
                                                   spreadsheets, forms and other duties. Craig’s participation in the family culture of the agency was
                                                   very evident and he participated and assisted in most of the community and social events.

                                                   After  an  impressive  thirty-five  (35)  year  career  with  Richmond  County,  twenty-two  (22)  years
                                                   of which he dedicated to the Richmond County Marshal’s Office, Sgt. Tom Boettcher marks the
                                                   end of a professional law enforcement career. Tom remained dedicated to upholding justice and
                                                   ensuring public safety. His unwavering commitment to his community has left an indelible mark
                                                   on this agency and the lives he touched. Throughout his tenure, he navigated the complexities of
                                                   policing with resilience and integrity, earning the respect of colleagues and citizens alike. As he
                                                   embarks on this well-deserved retirement, Tom leaves behind a legacy of service and dedication.



                                                   ABBY





                                                   K-9 Abby was a trailblazer for the Richmond County Marshal’s Office by serving as the very first
                                                   explosives detection K-9. During her years of service with the agency, Abby received rigorous
                                                   yearly  training  and  testing  through  the  International  Police  K-9  Association.  Abby  not  only
                                                   conducted  countless  routine  daily  security  sweeps,  but  also  helped  ensure  safe  travels  for
                                                   numerous VIPs, foreign and domestic dignitaries including United States Presidents and Vice
                                                   Presidents. Along with her extremely reliable ability to detect explosives, Abby also had a way of
                                                   spreading happiness and comfort to everyone she came into contact with on a daily basis.
