LEXI
The 2 ½-year-old black lab began work at the airport on Tuesday, September 6, 2022. She is a certified explosives detection
K-9 certified by the International Police Working Dog Association.
Our agency held a public naming competition on social media, and the new K9 was named Alexandria, Lexi for short,
with Greek origins meaning “protector of humanity.” Both K9 Abby and K9 Lexi are named for their purpose of keeping
travelers and visitors safe.
Lexi and her handler, Corporal Jonathan Harvey,
are assigned to the airport to work
alongside Abby and K9 Sergeant
Tom Boettcher.
